...blechhh....

...the season continues it's triumphant start... after a quite lovely Saturday (windy, but lots of sunshine) Sunday dawned... errr.. grey, miserable and shi**y...needs must though, and with an early'ish tide (10:43 local) I hop skipped and jumped down to the boat for 8'ish so as to take full adavntage of the water for an extended sesion ..

...t'was not to be...  no wind when I left so motored down to the entrance to Northney, watched it getting greyer, picked up a spare mooring off the marina and put the kettle on while I watched it getting even greyer...

...sat and slurrped coffee (in the cabin, to cold to sit out) while the breeze came up and it got even more greyer, watched the rain coming in over the hill, and thought "sod this for a game of soldiers"..

...packed up, short sail back under genoa, motor on, I was in the pub by 1...

    1. Andrea - good to see you got your boat launched... looked like a lot of fun! Did you get your engine sorted?

  2. Oh man... The rain didn't go any further west. I did quite a lot of motoring on Sunday as well. Lets hope you get a right decent sail in soon. I know someone who's looking for crew on a Corribee to go to France :) Go on, you know you want to.
We need to arrange a weekend some where and I'm running out of weekends :)

    1. Watcha Phil... been a bit unlucky this season so far... this time last year I'd done twice the miles.. n'er mind it has to get better. Re. trip to France, no thanks.. small boat crossing = nothing to see for 10 hours, sleep 12, and then the same coming back..! :o))

  3. I'm glad I got my hull scraping done on Saturday. As you said, sunny but windy. I did want to get the jib out as I need to check the set of it. I'm pretty sure it's all wrong as it doesn't work as well as it should. Just another chore in the long battle of getting my sails to work properly. :-)

Sunday was rest day as the Mrs was off work.

I'm trying to get Sprite 2 ready for the week the Americas Cup comes to Portsmouth. I fancy doing some spectating from the water.

    1. Watcha Mark - re. Americas Cup, yeah, trying to see if I can do the same.. may have a word with Rod the Mod and see if we can get out on the big boat... I used to sail out of ECA a long while ago so your piccies took me back... my old boat was moored down their for a while, and that was a Hurley 20 closest in the last piccie you took..

  4. No wind and threatening rain - a very pub inducing combination!
