Yee gods...

..it's in there somewhere.. ah look..  the kettles on....

...some progress has been seen to be made...

Time to get the good ship in a presentable condition...

  • the life jackets have been serviced..  no issues - they're good for another year
  • in what can only be described as a rush of blood to the head, yesterday I emptied the main cabin into the cockpit and then proceeded to sugar soap and wipe down all side and roof surfaces before giving all of them a good coat of kitchen/bathroom paint - same stuff I used on the fore cabin last year [clicky] - cabin now looks amazing - no pictures, maybe next time..
  • while I was about it I also sanded down and removed all shameful evidence of previous paint overruns on the wood surfaces and gave the bulkhead mast support a coat of varnish - and as the varnish brush was out, the tiller too..
  • the curtain bungees were replaced..  cutains are UV'd beyond pale, but they no longer sag!
  • the emergency supply shelf was updated (tinned goods don't last as long as you think) - the ketchup bottle had a BBE date of at least two years ago...  😁
  • then the cockpit contents minus a significant amount of no longer needed stuff were emptied back into the cabin...

...work was done, tea was drunk, more work was done, beer was drunk, there was time off for chatting (good to see you, Chris) and at the end of the day I was forced to the conclusion - yet again - that old blokes aren't meant to bend into all the contortions and shapes required when painting inside a small twenty footer..  despite all that a very good day..

I have the tail end of the week off to do some more work; anti-foul is next, then a damn good wash down (also with Oxalic acid), and then on to the fun jobs once all that is done...  then I need to arrange a lift in date...  oh, and Thursday I'm off out sailing...
