Winter job list 2018 - 2019

Any updates in red.. priority jobs in bold..

1. Fit the more chunky cleat bought at Widley boat jumble (2014!) on the fore deck 
2. Fit mid-ship cleats
3. Electrics:
   • stereo (??) - not needed - bluetooth speaker and phone are enough
   • Tiller pilot and electrics dri plug fitted for power - DONE
   • masthead light - DONE
   • navigation lights
   • replace VHF - DONE
   • connect DSC to VHF - data cable purchased - wiring works - DONE
   • register VHF for MMSI - DONE
4. Replace fore hatch hinges - started but abandoned - no time and not priority..





5. Previous GRP damage to nose (still) needs a rebuild




6. Fit anchor chain hawse pipe
7. Windex - source and fit and this time get a permanent solution! I plan to replace the HDPE plate I made in 2015 [clicky] with an aluminium plate, re-seating the mast head light at the same time..  Aluminium plate and windex purchased/sourced - DONE
8. Hurley 20's have what looks to be two (metal box section) stringers in the bilge - Sparrow's were glass fibre'd, but over the years this has become brittle/cracked and has let water in - need to strip off the glass, wire brush them, and treat with Fertan or the like, before paining..  I'll not glass them in again, I prefer to see them rather than hide them.. DONE - two coats epoxy primer, two coats garage floor paint.
   
9. Patch/repair the mainsail cover.. Turned out to be beyond repair unfortunately, so new one purchased.. DONE





10. Main sail - reduce luff length by 3" or 4" - I think we could just take the header plate off and move it down by it's depth.. purely cosmetic but I'd like sail numbers and class insignia as well... sail has been delivered to the sailmaker - picking it up next week - have also asked for sail numbers and Hurley 20 insignia.. collected. DONE
11. Genoa - needs reducing in size...  luff length is fine but the depth is too deep...DONE
12. Need to review/renew the whipping on the genoa/main/topping lift, eyes... look OK, I'll check them on the water once the mast is up and they are easier to get to...  DONE for now

Regular/annual items:

Rub down and coat of paint on cockpit locker lids / wash boards (as needed) - cockpit locker lids are holding up well but need a coat of paint.. Wash boards will need doing..  Two coats - DONE..

Rub down and coat of wood preservative on rubbing strakes / cockpit board / outboard pad / hand rails (as needed) - rubbing strakes will need taking back to wood, three years on the water and the initial layer is flaking away; Second coat completed.. DONE

Antifoul - Precision Performance (navy blue naturally) - DONE

Service outboard - collected - DONE

Service Life Jackets DONE

Mooring chain/pickup buoy Recovered and serviced - the grease at the beginning of the season was a success as I was able to undo the shackle rather than having to hacksaw it..  DONE

Titivate the tender:

1. take off the bung and re-do the sealant to stop leak
2. rub down and re-coat thwarts - DONE
3. re-paint floor
